In The Studio

May 17, 2021

Life has been very busy here on the vineyard and in the Quilt Studio.

The grapes are growing and look quite good this year. Thankfully, the fear of frost damage has passed.

Our hot tub/ spa has arrived, and we are loving it. I think we’ve taken a dip every night, except one, since it was hooked up and heated. We are waiting on the arrival and installation of the pool, it should be here by mid June and be up and running by July 4th, fingers crossed.

Lots of quilting projects were moved along these last two weeks.

One community service quilt put together with the help of a friend. Made from miss-matched odd blocks left over from a block exchange, we added green sashing and borders to bring it all together. Next step, long arm quilting.

Choosing a border
I went with the dark green.

And another community service quilt all quilted up and ready for a border. These blocks were made from scraps and donated to our group from the sister of a member.

One finished log cabin. This one I will keep as a class sample. I’ve titled it, “Here Comes The Sun”.

I’m working on an UFO, trying to get it out of the box. These Split Nine Patch blocks came from another block exchange. I need 16 more to make the quilt that I’ve designed on EQ8.

Stay healthy and Happy Quilting!
